Development of BiFeO<sub>3</sub>-Based Multiferroic Thin Films with Large Saturation Magnetization and Perpendicular Magnetic Anisotropy

High saturation magnetization and perpendicular magnetic anisotropy are required for ferromagnetic / ferroelectric thin films to apply recording such as writing elements of wire memory, which is a next-generation device with very high density. To realize the properties, substitution Co against Fe in (Bi1-xBax)FeO3 (Bi1-xLax)FeO3 were investigated. In (Bi,Ba)(Fe,Co)O3 films, both Ba up several tens at% had contribution increase magnetization. The was obtained total composition around 60 at%.
